Faculty Recruitment
The Office of Animal Resources (OAR) and the Office of the IACUC should be included when recruiting faculty who will be utilizing vertebrate animals in their research program. This is necessary for the OAR and IACUC to understand the needs of new researchers and to advise them about the animal program at the University of Iowa, including IACUC review, animal facility capabilities, and services.

New Investigator Orientation
The IACUC and OAR offices offer an orientation meeting for new investigators. During this meeting, the new investigator will meet IACUC and OAR lead staff, receive information regarding the necessary steps for obtaining IACUC approval and how to proceed once approval is obtained. Please email IACUC@uiowa.edu to arrange this orientation meeting.
